Hey folks! Anyone out there good at identifying EBJD fry from BGJD fry? Think I've got it right but just wanna double and triple check before I start culling the BGJD's. Thanks

Looks accurate to me. On the one that is labeled EBJD you can see how it is white vs the one marked BGJD is clear.

Thanks! Im stoked! If this finally works out, it will be my first successful EBJD spawn! It's been a LONG time coming! And it seems like there are a bunch of them! Probably going to start separating later today and move the EBJD's into a bigger tank.

I didn't know they could be identified so young. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I've been told you can start identifying differences as early as 2 weeks free swimming and these are about 3-4 weeks. Been pumping them full of bbs and daphnia. Seems to have done the trick!

Here's another pic. Not quite as clear, but circles are some that I believe are EBJD's, and the square is definitely a BGJD.

maybe a bit off topic but is there any way to tell the difference between BGJD and normal JD? at mid-adult stage?

May not be 100% correct but I've always thought my BGJD's seem to have more of a purplish hue, especially near their gills and jaw.

Well! Keeping my fingers crossed, but I think I have them all separated out and ended up with about 70 EBJD's!
