Identifying Mayan Cichlid Male/Female

Hello, I'm trying to master identifying Mayan cichlid sex from 2 inch size to adult if anyone can offer me some true guidance. What sex is the one in the picture below? Thank you kindly

mature females normally have a blue black dorsal males don’t…it’s easier to sex if you have a bunch of adults from the same area

Here is an example of what new world said.
Its fairly easy to see in the video below the females have that black area in the dorsal, and the non-territorial males don't, and are subordinate.

Thanks for the quick response and guidance. So the one in the picture I provided is female because the forefront of the Dorsal is dark correct?
