I tried finding out before asking you all. I did manage to narrow it down. The fish store did not know what kind these were. My favorite peacock bass and the one I’m hoping these are is the mono peacock bass. So while looking on here for answers I seen one person posted up pictures of peacock bass with the names Of them. I can’t find it now but I was thinking these are either ocellaris, or mono. Thanks, and I appreciate any help.

Too small for me to be 100% but if they are not wild fish. It's a good chance they are OcellxMono ( Farmie's) raised on fish farms for food and sport and they get into the pet trade. If so they will look more mono than the wild true Ocell. Or look like the bass in florida. IMO. Still will be nice bass.
There's a slight chance they might be kelberi , but I don't think so. Wait a few weeks. If they are kells or O's it will start to show.
Sorry I'm not much help. Nice little group

It was very helpful. I know the bigger they get the easier it is to identify them. I just want to have a breeding pair of mono’s so I bought five and debating if their is a good chance they are mono’s I might buy a few more. Didn’t want to buy more if there was absolutely no chance. Thank for the reply and the help. I do appreciate it.

Is that a picture in your tank or the dealers? Do you have them in with convicts (not sure even that’s what I can see, but if it is, be careful)

Currently I have them in a 75 gallon with convicts. The convicts are just for breeding feeders. This will not be their permanent tank. They are to small to go in my 210 with my Jardini and Oscar. I have convicts in my 210 as well. Both pair of convicts have breed and currently have fry. There is plenty of hiding places for the peacock bass to avoid the aggression of the convicts. The convicts mostly stay in the area with their fry.

Mmmmmm, I just don’t trust convicts, especially breeding ones. Many, many years ago I bought six 4” piranha to try to keep their numbers lower in a 4ft tank of interbreeding convicts and the breeding convicts just tore into them, killing them all off in a week.
Obviously your experience with them may be different.

Jardini dont mix with PBass. .That Jar will kill the bass . Trust me and in a 210 will even make it worst. That jar.will be the boss of that tank ,in time it will keep your oscar from feeding on top. Convicts can't be trusted with those bass. Especially a pair with fry. Not trying to jump all over you . IMO with the 2 tanks you mentionned your over stocked. Both the bass and the Jar need bigger homes at least 8'x 3'x3' foot print and I think bass need at least 3ft deep water.
Just my thoughts .

Don’t worry, I don’t feel you are jumping all over me. I’m not the type to get offended easily. I know fish have different personalities. Sometimes it works and other times it does not. I plan on building a custom tank for my fish hopefully next year. But atm if the worst case scenario plays out I will buy another tank till I can build the tank.
