its called venting them. to vent them you must take the fish out grab a net (for the smaller ones) and flip them over as if ur looking at there stomich and look at there holes, (where they poo) the male will have 2 holes looking like O0 and the female will be O> heres a like thet shows pics http://www.fishhead.com/articles/ventsex.htm , also post pics of ur bass to would lov to see them

In general always keep an eye out for tubes when feeding your fish, its real hard to miss a female with her tube extended. I HAVE NO XP WITH BASS tho.

Is the male really the one with the bigger vent? In Cichlids its the female with the larger and rounder vent
