Sandtiger is probably the best one for this question but I'm sure alot of you will have the answer for this.
I have a sunfish that is roughly 4 inches, dark greenish/ black in color with the pretty torquoise stripe pattern around his mouth and gills. It has a very bright orange belly. I belive its a long ear but can anyone clarify that for me?
Thanks in advance

I'm gonna take a pic tonight...then that should help identifying alot. Just to be sure.
Are Bull heads aggressive, and could I put one in with this sunfish and a couple yellow perch? Oh yeah theres an oscar in there too!

Yea it kinda does sound like a bluegill. Below are images of bluegill.

No, Put the oscar in his own tank. Yes, You can put a bullhead with sunfish and yellow perch. They can be aggressive but they mostly like to hide. Except when it's feeding time. KEEP YOUR TANK NATIVE nothing uglier than mixing natives with non natives IMO....

OK sounds to me like a hybrid of a green sunfish and a bluegill aka "bream". Below is an image.

Although yours may have more of a brighter orange colored stomach like the common bluegill. The turquoise around the mouth and on the sides comes from the green sunfish parent. Below are a couple images of a green sunfish.
