Hey everyone. Here's the scenairo. I moved my koi from my 46g to 125g and an hour after I did so, some of his scales started to shed off. Why is this?? The water is from the same water source and the temp is 1.5degrees cooler in the 125g. Thank you.
I bet he has a bacteria caused by low oxygen levels; little or no surface action, poor maintenance routine or overcrowded conditions
To reduce harmful bacteria levels; Perform the Salt Treatment. Reduce water temperatures. To avoid future infection increase surface action, increase number of fresh water changes, use gravel vacuum with each water change. Also get some air stones to raise oxygen levels.
surface area meaning? I think its stress because in the 125g is a 17in CK. Its defintely not due to poor maintence as nitrates are 20ppm, and there is surface agitation.
