Trout Island
Whats older...the frilled shark they found recently or the coelacanth? I can find detailed info on the coelacanth...but no time period on the frilled shark.

As far as species, no idea, but sharks predate bony fish.

The Coelacanth has been fossil dated to 400 million years, I can't find fossil dates on the frilled shark.

I read somewhere that deep water sharks developed after the mass extinction. So less than 265 million years. But I can't immediately find anything on it.

In the broadest of terms, the frilled shark is older than coelacanths. Being that ancient sharks (similar to the frilled shark) predate the surviving frilled shark greater than ancient coelacanths predate the surviving L. chalumnae coelacanth.

WOW...this can go back and forth...makes me want to know the definitive TRUTH!

All you need is time travel and a big net.
