would i be able to get away with this stock list?
1 pair of rainbow cichlids
1 pair of jewels
2 festivums
4-6 brochis
1 (temp.) tire track eel
a school of lined barbs

the tank is 36"x12"x18"
the filtration is an ac 70 and a ac 50(ive got a bucket of water handy for flames)

the jewels are pretty much the only thing stopping this setup from working. Why not get instead of jewels something like blue acaras

what about Aequidens patricki in stead of the blue acras?

Not familiar with them. Big variations in aggression among the Aequidens...if they're closer to keyholes or ports" re: aggression then maybe, if they're more like green terrors than probably not. Pairs in community settings are generally dicey at best though.


*both of those might not even be classified as Aequidens sp. anymore, my knowledge of classification is about 25 years out of date...hell I still think 90% of SA cichlids are Cichlasoma
