As with most arowana keepers in the USA. There is forbidden taboo that is the Asian arowana. I can only wait for the day where we can all proudly walk into a LFS and come out with one of these babies. I simply don't understand the logic behind the ESA regarding these arowana. By banning them, it only encourages people to get them by illegal means and thus pay more for them. The fish farms that are allowed to breed these fish don't really release that much back into the wild and keep their best stock for sale. It's pretty much self destructive for ESA and their goal. As long as there is a demand on the market for this fish; it will never truly go extinct.
