oscar, blood parrot, gibby, ornate bichir, 9 silver dollars, 5 clown loaches. all are small except for gibby 15" but growing. i have 2 350 penguins but would like to add a can or two, possibly to replace penguins. i was thinking 2 eheims 2217 or a single pro3. i know the tank is overstocked so i want excellent filtration, dont worry this isnt their permanent home but it will have to do till i move.

p.s. i know i asked this question just a few days ago im just so indesive and look at every filter and combo known to man,its driving me nuts!

I recently purchased an Eheim Pro3 for the 125 to replace an XP3. Having never seen this in person when the UPS guy shows" mY gOD WHAT DID i BUY!":) Spent another hundred on media and am now thinking I need a 180 to take full advantage of this beast!

well i finally decided to go with 2 eheim 2217s, not only because they have been suggested by trusted members before, but its also nice to have 2 incase one craps out and i can alternate cleaning, they are only 100$ with media online, and they will flow just as much as a single pro3.

The 2217s do not come with media, that is separate. I would personally have gone for either a 2250 or 2260 instead. The Pro 3es are very new, but so far I like the one I have.

Ah, drs f+s are adding those in, but the ehfisubstrat isn't very good. The ehfisubstrat pro is the work horse of the eheim series. The actual filter does not come with media though, and never has as far back as I can remember.

Wyld, the 2217 has substrate as a standard feature now. Check out Big Al's and Pet Smart. I have 2 on my 240. :D

Just bought a 2217 at drsfostersmith a few weeks ago and they do come with media and it's ehfimech, the pads, and ehfisub pro and all for $100. It's the best bang for your buck IMO.

According to Drs f+s it is only substrat, not the pro version.
