What would you do if this were your tank?

Here's a more downward-looking view (bad pic, i know, but this is more from the point-of-view of someone standing at the tank)

What I'm looking for:
Ways to hide filter intakes.
Plants that will look good in the tank, don't mind a sand substrate (I can do root tabs), and don't mind 1wpg (my bolbitis and anubias are doing absolutely wonderfully.)
Additional driftwood that will look good in the tank.
Any other suggestions. Only things I don't want to hear are: "Clean the glass" (I do occasionally), and "hide the heater" (I'm working on a sump now.)

also i recently got a fake plant, made by fancy plants called giant bamboo. it actually looks pretty good in the tank(i do have real plants in my other tanks, but the fish eat them in that one). i see it in a few other mfkers tanks too.

Anacharis does well at covering anything. Java ferns and tiger lotus can both tolerate low light and still look great.
If your worried about any anacharis going into the intake, you can always tie another large anubia or java fern to a new piece of drift wood and put it near the intake since those two are one of the harder to break plants that can handle low light off the top of my memory (that don't require you to wait for a bulb to sprout)
I would also put like 50+ clown loaches in there, but thats my own personal thing lol.

I'm reading about that vampire shrimp - two inches.
That thing will get CHOMPED by my bichirs.
Last I recall, VS gets up to 6 inches. Regardless still likely to become bichir food. Or at least a chew toy.

I would opt for a smaller boulder and maybe some taller plants in the background...that go up at least halfway to top. Next, I would move one of the heaters right next to even up against the down tube to that emperor and move the other one next to the spray bar( I would put that at the top were it belongs and get a small power head or two for circ.) Place the taller background plants in front of the heaters. Coralia makes a nice prop design circ pump if water movement (plants as well) is what your looking for. They are black and take up no space and are magnet mounted to go anywhere. And lastly, I would try and move the light above more forward so there is less showing on the business on the back wall. Thats were I would start if it were me tank.

I can look into a smaller boulder. The whole setup is moving into a bigger tank eventually, so it'll look smaller then.

The heater (in the middle) is going to be moved into a sump. You said heaterS, but the tube on the far left is a canister intake.

The bolbitis in the background will grow taller. Its just very very slow growing.

I don't think I need more water flow and the light on the top is fixed (its in a hood that can't easily be moved forward)

The tank is loosely congo river themed, although it's probably way off. I've kind of been fighting with myself over the theme, I'd rather not go away from it entirely although I already have fish from different parts of africa (mainly the nile) in there.

What kind of tall grassy plants could I get that would continue to match my loose congo river theme?

I would get rid of the sand. Get some eco complete or ADA. Not put in any fake plants but get some real plants and add more fish.
