So imagine you have a 10' x 4' x 4' tank and you wanted the ultimate SA/CA Monster Cichlid tank what would you put in it? What is the largest fish you would put in there?

That big I'd want it to be a display tank and probably fill with vieja/patatheraps. That or do a large knife fish.

every type of Paratherap, Amphilophus, Parachromis and Peacock Bass, big catfish and a nice arowana!

I'd try Umbees with a FEW bruisers. A big Argentea, a big Trimac, some Midas and a male Umbee. See if the tank's big enough for those to co-exist. If not, I'd keep the Trimac / Argentea / Midas and let the Umbee go. I like Umbee's, but not more than Trimac's and Argentea.

A huge south american display with schools of wild discus, altums, and festivums for mid water. A pair each of crenicichla tapajos, crenicichla zebrina, crenicichla acutirostris, a small group of hoplarchus psitticas, and a small group of geophagus dicrozoster.

I would add a pair of pseudoacanthicus 5 points, and a small shoal of brochis splendens.

Lastly, I would throw in a 6 fun grown pink tailed chalcues.

Not quite 1200 gallons but in my 8x4x4 I have an Argentea, synspilus, crenicichla cincta, a trimac, 3 wild caught oscars, 3 cichla kelberi, 3 pimelodus ornatus, cichlasoma ornatum, and a group of 3-4 different species of silver dollars (green sd's, green red hooks, a couple that are like dolphin pacu, and 3 unidentified from argentina). They are all pretty young fish and are all under 8". I may need to separate some later on, but all is well so far. Oh yeah, I forgot a single small male Lepomis megalotis.

id probably just put a dovii there
