if i had a lionfish in a 55 gallon tank, a fuzzy dwarf, how many blue damsels could i have in there with him? or could i have the damsels at all?

damsels would more then likely work, being there quick and fast to get away. When i kept lionfish, he was a nocturnal hunter, so i couldnt keep anything that small with him.

Im thinking that you'll be fine only becuase were talking dwarfs, which generaly dont get that large anyways. i would say a school of 6 would work, provided you have good filtration/water movement and LR, and good tank cleaning practices.

Another good thing to watch out for are the fin tips being nipped by the damsels. Most likely will not happen but theres always a possibility.

Good luck

thanks, i am currently converting a brackish water tank to a salt water tank, i already have 2 GSps, 1 snowflake eel (G. tile), and 3 knight gobys. are these guys going to be alright in full SW? i know that the eel and GSPs are fine, but what about the knight gobys?

most of the inhabitants in the tank as of now are bottom dwellers, will the lionfish be ok with critters living in the bottom part of the tank? lionfish usually stay middle to top of the aquarium from what i read, so i think that the bottom feeders will be ok, but then again, thats why im here asking the pros.

again, its mostly going to depend on the size of these fish. I have never kept knight gobies before so I'm not sure whether they will be okay or not.
