iggy not eating

i moved my iguana to a much larger enclosure (iwas the one asking about heating under turf). its been 2 days and he has yet to eat, he is still pretty active during the day. i did move him from a quiet bedroom to a busy frontroom (he has always been very skidish of people) and his basking spot is only 85 until i get an infrared bulb either tomorrow or the next day. am i worrying too much? is this normal? thanks

yeah he is probably just skittish cause you moved him to a high traffic area. temps need to be warmer too. you should get one of those 150-160 watt active uv heat bulbs. they go for about 65 bucks i think.... what kind of foods are you giving it? that might also bee a problem. good foods are collard greens, turnip greens, dandelion greens (and flowers). fruit should be given only as a treat. make sure to get some vitamin spray or powder too.
 
You have to be pacient. It´s normal for an iguana tho skip feedings for a few days when put in a new habitat. He´s geting used to it´s new home. Also has you allredy said the habitat temp also does afect an iguana apetite. If the temp is to low then it cant properly digest it´s food and also wont eat. For my iguanas I use two 50w-100w heating lamps and a 16w UV lamp. Your terrarium seems great but a litle poor in landscape. Put some more logs,branches ,large plastic plants ,etc,for decoration and to give your iggy a sense of security. I also use bascking and resting platforms made of plyhood that are really usefull to put the food and water bools above the flour level.This is important because some igs refuse to come down to eat. During this aclimation period is really important that your iguana has constant acess to food, so that she can eat at will. Provide diverse choped blends of vegetebles and fruit ,and also hole leaves of darck leffy vegetebles. Your iguana looks great and I´m chore it will began to eat very soon:). Also very colorfull. Is she a red morph green iguana?
 
Pretty much what others have said...boost the temps, cover the sides if your ig is generally nervous around lots of people, and give it some time to adjust. Should be fine. Nice iguana.
 
i noticed you said "she" is it a female? i never bothered to find out. yes it is red morph not sure if its true red morph though. i usually vary foods he gets collard greens, spinach, carrots, broccoli, banana, mango, during the summer he gets strawberry's and melon. i'll take ceeej's advice with the sheets that should also up the heat a bit until i get another source.
 
Cut with the spinach, and reduce the carrots,brocoli and banana. Also use water cress, dandilions,turnip greens ,mustard greens ,chicory greens(only the green leafs),green beans , kale , pumpkin,hibiscus leaves and flouers,etc.
 
Def get rid of the spinach and brocolli.. those are very bad for an igg. they dont allow them to take in the calcium that they need and will case major problems down the road. stay away from any type of lettuce thats no good either

Variety is key. if he is giving you trouble eating try foods that are colorfull. carrots, strawberrys, bannanas. those have always worked for me.

Cover some of the cage and boost up the temps. that should work.. how long have you had your igg for? how old is she? also what do you have for lighting? do you have a UVB bulb in the cage?

I would love to see some more pics when you get them. i love iggs. i dont know what i would do without my big guy.:D

i would also try and find out whether its male or female.. makes a difference in there care since a female will still develop eggs even with no male around and they can become egg bound, which is not a good thing. if you get some better pics up i can try and help you sex it. how big is the igg right now?
 
shes only about 2' i got her at about 16" about a year ago. i have a 18" florescent uvb 10, with a 100 watt basking light will get a infrared for more heat. how do you sex an iguana anyway?
