1 Fluval 405
1 Koralia 850gph
1 Hydro Sponge V (125g)
2 60 gallon air pump w/ stones

Fish:

2 JDs 1 9in Male 1 6in Female
1 Carpintis cichlid 5in
1 Firemouth 3in
3 2-3 Clown Loaches
2 Plecos 10in & 2in
1 6in Channel Catfish
2 AFRICAN RED EMPRESS 1 Male 1 female

1 1in Jaguar cichlid in grow out tank

So you see where my problem lies haha

The Africans will be sold they are to pretty to take a chance. But Im not sure who to get rid of other wise. Id like to get rid of the least amount of fish possible.

Must keep the Jag. my 2nd one i love them.
Like to keep the JDs and Carp but thats 4 big fish not sure if it would work.

They dont mess with the Clown Loaches at all, its like they arent even there.

I just have a feeling once all full grown its going to get ugly. And I dont want that

Any advice...

if you're lucky you might get to keep perhaps the JD pair with the jag. a JD pair might be on par with the aggression of a jag. If you setup territories at opposite ends of the tank then it might work out.

You could also try the jag, JD and carpintis but I don't see this working out. Well to be honest I don't see either situation working out. Jags are hyperterritorial and require a very large territory. The odds are slim that you'll be able to keep the jag with another cichlid.

Your best hope is the clown loaches and hoping that the jag just ignores them.

Get rid of the jag, plecos, channel cat, and another cichlid. If you wanna keep the jag, then thats all you can keep. You can mix and match some of the other cichlids if you prefer a more community set up. Really depends on what you wanna keep. But the channel cat and plecos should go for sure.

Get rid of the plecos and the channel cat. They will get much to big and the cat will add a lot of waste. That Jag will eventually grow up and want more room in the tank for itself. If it wants room it will take it. The only thing in your stock that would actually stand a chance against it would be the Carpintis but in the end most likely the Jag would win. Those two would be your biggest problems. When the JDs breed that will be another issue of aggression.

i think if the jag is much smaller then it should be ok, just will take some strategic decorating. i would definitely get rid of the channel cat, female JD and one of the plecos (that is assuming they are both common plecos)

Yeah the channel, cat and the plecos should go for sure. If you wanna keep the jacks, I would get rid of the Jag and get yourself some smaller cichlids that would be compatible with the JDs.

i would get rid of most everything u have if u want to keep the jag priority. u might be able to keep either the carpintis or maybe the jd pair but probably not both. if u do decide to keep either of the two, u would still need to monitor it and make sure ur jag doesnt mess with them, it just depends on how aggressive ur particular jag is.

I would get rid of everything except the Jds,clowns and Jag. I believe You will have a better chance of the Jd & Jag co-existing than the texas & Jag. You never know with cichlids because individuals can vary so much. GL

If it were my tank, I would get rid of the plecos and the channel 1st. Then when the jag goes in watch them closely and if things get too angry in the tank then the smallest jd would be my next deletion from the tank, then the next jd and finally the carp if it gets too bad. If all else fails you got the right size tank for the fish you really want" the jag". Maybe trade all of them and get a pair of jags for the tank.

Just my thoughts.
