Ill clown knife!

Hello I am a new member, yesterday my clown knife came out of his hide revealing an alarming health issue. His find are blood shot as is the transparent area of his gillsI'm currently treating this as ammonia but I thought id see if any one has any useful input I.e. medications diagnosis etc. Recently I've been battling to keep the front of the tank clean from algae and trying to find a good enough filter for the tank unfortunately I fear I have ran out of time.

Looks septicemia from bad water quality. Check ur water quality. I’d suggest a big water change after the water parameter check. Then dose some kanamycin.

Could be but that’s just what I’m leaning toward.

That was definitely an infection of some sort,probably what kno4te mentioned. T Thomas cw did you ever get around to testing the water in that tank?

yes everything except nitrite was normal so i did a bunch of water changes thoroughly cleaned the gravel used aquarium salt and medication but to no evail.

he'd been fine for months so i dont think its parasites but who knows
