Hey guys what fish are illegal in Australia?in Adelaide.
are any of these illegal?
Arowanas,snakeheads,gars,fresh water rays.ATF.armatus.dorados,eels,odoe pike,dats,Lungfish,wolf fish,puffers?Thanks in advance!

For import yes majority are.

Keeping them is another story, you should be able to find the noxious and grey list for Adelaide via google, I dont know there list very well. Your not allowed to import a large majority of fish ( i.e every american cichlid but blue acra * ) but that does not classify them as illegal (noxious) to own as such I know red hooks are in most states illegal to own where as RTC are allowed once imported. Its quite silly how it all works but it is what it is sadly.

I can say snakeheads, armatus, dorados & wolf fish you have a very very very slim chance ever acquiring else they change the import rules, the other fish are around but reek a price unlike anywhere else in the world, as per 99% of things in lovely Australia :d

You have such great native fish in Australia I would be happy as hell with a native tank. But it's human nature to want what you can't have.

Agreed and I'd also be happy with a Murray River crayfish.

Yes, you need a quarantine room all imported fish must be checked once at airport via government dep, from there numbers are taken and must be stored in a approved QT room that fits government standards from here a set of rules must be followed and in 2 weeks they will come and check on the fish all is well they sign the release papers and fish can be sold.

I agree natives are great but most of our natives do require larger tanks, one reason I believe they are not that loved here in general is most people see them as food haha, where I live almost every area will have 1 + shop selling a set amount of live natives for food.
