hey guys i was thinking about getting an electric catfish but i have heard they are illegal in some states. i was wondering if they are illegal in California?? Also any info on them will be appreciated. thanks

Oscars are cichlids. I bought mine when it was 1" at PetCo in Chino Hills....is this list all inclusive? How are some many illegal, yet so many retail available?
Not sure if it works the same as down here but over here pretty much every cichlid is banned so are most other larger fish yet if they are breed in the state we are allowed to have them hence why some fish cost a arm and leg here because theres only a few breeders. The only fish this changes for is all arows apart for the aussie ones and piranhas.
