are all asian arowanas illegal in California and the US? i see people post ones for sale on craigslist. even if you have a lisence, can you have one?

simply put the answer is no!

you are not allowed to own, perchase or sell any asain arowana species in the us let alone california, there is a bunch of threads on this matter allready if you just do a quick search on the site you will see.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO go spread the word! I don't know how many people I run into talking about HOW you can get an asian aro (legally) - "its gotta be microchipped" "you need a license" "it needs to be captive bred"

NO there is NO WAY you can EVER OWN an asian aro in the US.

This response may seem over the top...but its nothing personal...just touched a nerve with me :)

DYED AROWANAS?!?! that is wild!

Actually given how the question was phrased, the answer is:

Yes, all asian arowanas are illegal in the United States including California. :D Unless you own a zoo or something like that where you can get special rights.
