Well....not really. But my fish are! I came home from King's Island today to find that my albino red oscars were guarding a rock that was covered in eggs. Not one fish will go to their side of the tank. They're keeping very close watch on them and constantly hover, never going farther away than 6 inches. My question is, what should I do now? Should I move the other fish to my 20 temporarily? Or put the eggs in a hatchery? Or what?

....Go smoke another one Ryan.

My plec is 15" long. I don't think he's gonna do too well in a 20g.

Congrats on the spawn :)

I'd say if you leave them in there they should be fine, but perhaps consider dividing off the tank.

Congrats :clap I hope you have plenty of room and filtration for a bazillion baby O's. The pleco would be my only worry, mine kept eating my jewel eggs. Good luck with trying to feed them hungry mouths

Well my plec tends to stay on the opposite side of the tank, so I don't think he'll be a problem. They're very protective of the eggs as well, so nothing's getting close to them.

Is it normal for the parents to not eat? I put food in the tank but they won't budge.

my GT just had babys...she didnt eat till they became free swimmers and even then hardly ate...i think its normal
