I'm about to break it!

My cascade 1,000 is about to be broken. I'm trying to unhook it so I can clean the damn thing but the intake tube won't come off! The thing you're suppose to twist is too tight to even make it move. What do I do? If I can't get it off I am literally going to break it, at this point I don't care anymore if I break it.153361276290431953311.jpg
 
I've tried hitting it with a pair of pliers and that didn't work. Trying to use said pliers to get a better grip and force it open didn't work either.
 
Wiggle and twist and pull, gentle!
Did you let the pressure out?
Cut the hose carefully and replace it with a new one held by a hose clamp?

Nope, that didn't help. This thing is tighter then a knot tied by the world champion knot tyer.
Let the pressure out by turning off the flow? If so, yes.
I'll order new hoses.

not by turning off the flow, but by opening the other valve to let air in/water out.
 
Oh then yes. Do you reckon I should dump all the water out first and then try again?
 
Yep, I can get it to budge ever so slightly after trying about 10 times and tearing up my hand one way. The other way, well, I'd rip my hand in half before getting it to move.
