Was excited to set up my 125 gallon today. I was moving the sump I just got a while ago from the dollar a gallon Petco sale. I was in a rush and I banged the edge on a counter. Can I still use this as a sump or do I need to silicone it or is it done for? Pics below

Hey at least you know it's drillable.
How big is the tank?
How thick is the glass?

It should be OK for a sump, if you silicone patch it with a glass overlay.
If is was just a chip I would say your fine.

Some one else will respond.

I got a few 20 longs I can use. It was the 30 gallon. Need it for more height for n when the power goes out to catch rest of the water for the main tank. I'll just spend another 30 I guess. Maybe I'll just get a 55 for the sump might as well ha. Don't know what to do with this messed up one now tho. Maybe use the sides for baffles or something but I never even use baffles in my sumps.

I think it is quite fixable with two glass strips siliconed on the inside on both sides of the damaged seam. But my standards are low.

Go for the 55 and build a refugium into it. Here's mine for my 220:

I'm running about 1600gph through it in my setup right now. You basically get another tank under your display tank. I plan on keeping red shrimp in mine.

Shot in the dark but If you live anywhere near southeast PA I can sell you my thirty for thirty. Not using it now but if it's just sitting there, I'm bound to put something in it.
