After a long, long hiatus (3+ years), I'm back to the States and MFK. My tanks are no longer in use (all sharks were donated to various aquariums, or in Turbo's case, he just got $1500). I've been all over the world in the time being, and been scuba diving with some of the best guides in the world - best experience by far was in South Africa. It was truly life changing - and while we did see white sharks up close and personal, and multiple full breaches, the absolute best was diving in the kelp forests with puff adder sharks, pajama catsharks (my favorite), leopard catsharks and seven gill sharks all VERY up close and personal. Literally, these sharks were getting inside the band of my BC. It was AWESOME. Made me realize I'd rather spend tens of thousands of dollars traveling and diving the world instead of keeping them in an aquarium (no fault, at all, to those that do - I'd love having another huge tank, but not home long enough to really justify it). Plus seeing tiger sharks materialize out of the blue when feeding oceanic black tips... damn. (BTW, Zoodiver, I was diving in SA with Andy Murch, of Elasmodiver - very cool dude).
