Well, I was about to get back into fish keeping. I was away on holiday and I planned to get home and upgrade my Oscar tank to 125g because he was getting to big for his 55g tank. Then our pet sitter got sick and I called my cousin to ask her if she could take care of my Oscar until the pet sitter got better. The pet sitter got better the next day and she called me, with bad news: my cousin had accidentally left the tank open. My Oscar loves jumping, I usually keep a glass panel about 30cm above the water so my Oscar can jump, but the panel wasn't there and he jumped and hit the side of the tank and fell out, she found him dead the next morning ;( I really miss him soooo much. Even our Chinese algae eater misses him, he's just sitting in the corner with his fins all droopy looking depressed.

He was such a nice Oscar, he was only a year old. He was really gentle and only bothered fish that fit in his mouth. He became really good friends with my Chinese algae eater and took really good care of him, he would always protect him from the 'evil fish tank cleaning vacuum' the catfish would hide in a corner and the Oscar would viciously attack the siphon if it came close. He would let me pat him and he could recognize me, whenever I came back from school he would swim around in circles happily. Miss him so much

Oscars have wonderful personalities. I'm sorry for your loss.

sorry for your loss.. losing an Oscar is a loss.

Aww, i'm sorry to hear that! Hearing a story like this (I mean the part about your oscar's personality) makes me want to get one more and more. Once again, i'm so sorry for your loss - your oscar seemed like a wonderful pet and friend from what you say. :)
