So i mostly keep goldfish. That won't change.

What i'm thinking of changing is my african cichlid tank. I'm thinking of converting it to raise a single blue gill or redear sunfish.

i'm torn a bit. I know, only i will know what will make me happy.

I'm thinking of doing it. i need peer support.

Do you think i could keep my 3 clown loaches? I know sunfish are natives, but ambient temps still hold the tank at 76....

The way I see it, is do what makes you happy. If you are keeping a fish that you really want to keep your are more likely to give that fish (or any pet) the attention they deserve and care needed. They depend on us to take care of them and if we are interested with that fish, then they will have a better life. Thats just my opinion, others do think differently from that.

Don't get me wrong, love the africans, and top-notch care is provided! But i miss the attentiveness of the sunfish.

it's something i need to think long and hard about i guess.

You know, the african cichlids, when they squabble it messes with my Chi. Weird right?

I love sunfish, so I say do it. Pumpkinseeds are a bit more colorful and personable in my opinion, but go with what you like. I have a few bluegills, and I don't find them as interesting as my pumpkinseeds. Come to the native forum and discuss.
