heres the story.....I have a 75 gallon with 2 retic pups and 1 silver arrowana. they will be going inside my 220 coming in december. I though my addiction reached its peak when i decided to get the 220...WRONG.....I saw the perfect spot in my aprtment for a 55 gallon. First thing you should know is that my 75 will become home to 2 green terrors when I get the 220, my idea for the 55 was to get convicts and let them breed like hell but now i cant decide. SO.. my question is what other species of fish can i house in a 55 that I can breed??:headbang2 :headbang2

Well for aros, I have had bad luck with the cons. They don't take to them too well. I'm now going to see if mollies are any different, but may also just sell those off to the LFS.

different tank i think.
at first i thought you were asking what can you breed in the same tank as a pair of cons.
you could try ancistrus catfish, they breed easily, and you could keep other fish with them and have a kind of community. corydorus too. how about geos?

I wanted to know what else other than convicts can I house in a 55. I dont know if i want convicts so I wanted suggestions from you guys on what other fish i can breed in it. Its either convicts or something else. hope I made things a little more clear....I confused myself i think:screwy:

What I meant is that my aros don't eat cons, and so, you will end up with WAY to many cons.

I was just gonna sell them off to the lfs or give them away but not use them for fish food. I thought it would be something different for me as i never had fish that actually spawned other than cons

you may aswell try anything else then- it will probably be more interesting. there are so many fish you can breed, at lots of levels. what about some kind of other cichlid?
