I've always hated these poop machines but I guess its that time of the season when everything else has been pretty much owned (thats legal). I may do a community pleco tank.

What species are not aggressive and would look nice with black sand/background and max out under 6"?

Zebra plecos are very nice but for a first time sucker tank I will pass on those prices.

50-60gl corner tank with a RenaX3 for now. Manzanita, 2 anubias and moss is in the tank with lots of aeration.

I can't really comment on what plecos would look nice because I've never had experience with black sand and background but I've seen friends that do and it's hard to see the plecos. I personally like the natural colored sand, which i use. This will make all your plecos visible! Some don't like it because it shows all the gunk on the floor as well but with the proper water circulation, filtration, and setup it doesn't stay for long.

Lol thanks. I guess theres only one way to know. Thats if I even go the sucker route :)

What plecos catches your eyes beside zebras? And start from there.

Welcome to the club, buddy!

My picks for your setup: gold nugget (L18, L81, L177) or green phantom (L200)

I personally LOVE the Albino bristle nose/bushy nose! It'll look awesome with the black background!

Mommy of 3 babies, 2 fur babies and 12 gilled babies

Plecos are really awesome but once you get one you need to get more and more until you decide to sell most of your collection :D
I think a group of l333s would be pretty cool. they sort of look like zebras with a crazy pattern. Also l144 would look cool. If you live sort of close to MD I can ship you some fry from my group.
