check the diy forum tons of answers. Usually 3/4" exterior ac grade I belive but depends on dimensions. check diy for more details...

shua my bad. I replied to you from the first page of the forums and did not realize you were dead on in the right place...Sorry man

no i wasnt the mod bots switched me i didnt even know trhis form was here thanks though

Every tank is coated in some way to seal it, so using exterior grade isn't really necessary. If you want to spend the extra money, that's all well and good, but in my opinion it is a waste of money that could be spent elsewhere. Why people use any kind of hardwood ply is beyond me unless it's going to be stained and clear coated to show the grain on the outside.

do you have your dimension figured out yet it will have a big effect on how you need to consruct your tank and also help people give advice accordingly

4 1/2' x2 1/2' x5' (ish im going off a peice of glass i already have)

i was also thinking about doing nice grain wood such as maple because i hate paint and love stained wood (im a finish carpenter cant help it haha)
