Agree 100%. You can grow a couple of them up to about 7" in a 55g with great filtration (I did it with 4 of them). At that point they need alot more space. These guys will grow from 8-12" in the first year.

Hi guys,i dont know anything about pbass at all but i was wondering whats the minimum tank size for life for any species of pbass,i personally would like to know,also it will answer fishaddicts q too,and on the catfish forum there is a guy who is thinking of getting one for his already overstocked 75g,think the thread is called which cat by multispeciestamer,the guys over there have told him its too small but he seems to know everything so cant be told.

I'd say minimum would be 8'x3'x2' for monos or orinos. You would need a much bigger tank for temensis though. Maybe 12'x4'x3' would be about enough for a 3ft temensis.
You could probably keep a kelberi in a smaller tank but since we live in the uk it will be near impossible to get one.
