I need to vent here a little, so please bear with me.
I just recently went back to work after having been laid off from my union for 2-1/2 yrs.
The job call I picked up 6 weeks ago (like all construction job calls) is always a gamble on duration but was supposed to last until February. Well, lo-and-behold I got dumped today. The real killer is that I was only 8hrs short from qualifying for this pension year and 1 week short of getting a new unemployment claim.
You may have noticed my post in the Buy and Sell section that I was remodeling the fish room.
Well my plan was to sell off some tanks (120's) and filtration (FX-5's) and put up a bunch of 20 longs and some 50 breeders so I could start importing and breeding some very cool fish again.
I even went as far as buying the smaller tanks, air system, etc needed to run the whole deal.
Now, I am so disgusted and worried about finances that I may just chuck it all in and sell everything.
I already have the large tanks and filtration posted but now I'm thinking of dumping all the other tanks I have bought.
If I do, there will be a lot of 20longs, 30longs and a few 40 longs available as well as ALL OF MY FISH.
Many of the fish are rare items, such as the only Panaque sp. "Oyo Chico" I have ever seen offered. I also have some other rare plecos and some Crenicichla to move.
My nagging question is, since I already have the needed replacement tanks and full system on hand, not to mention some KILLER AVAILABILITY LISTS, do I risk the investment and hope it works out?
What do you all think? I could even post a "potential" list of cool stock I could offer.
Now, I by no means intend to even try to compete with the vendors on here, but I need to find a way to keep a roof over my head this winter.
What would you all do in my position? Risk the investment, or sell off everything while I have the chance?
I guess I'm done venting, time to go drink a couple dozen beers and contemplate my predicament.
