I earlier posted a thread that if aro can stay with gar and i got the ansean that the size should be same and tank should be large i have kinda cemented pond (rectangular) but my gators are now about 13 inches the fish store that can bring me a arowana is saying that he cant even get a 7-8 inch he can get only 4-6 inch arowana because he cant bring that big fishes and if he does they might die on the way ( even when i bought gars they were in a 2 long foot tank which is way too small) can anyone help me with this?

Hello; You have included the information needed in the initial statement. If you keep the present gars they are big enough to try to eat the smaller arowana if in fact your statement is correct. I have been under the impression gars eat smaller fish but have no personal experience.
Sounds like you may need to decide to have gars only or get rid of the present gars and get some about the same size as an aro?

Or if possible get a second tank and grow the aro out until its big enough to share with the gars..

I don't know how quickly aros grow so I couldn't say how long it will take, but its another option if you have the room. :)

Its kind of not possible because my second one cant have a lid its odd shaped

Get a big piece of plexiglass or acrylic and cut it to the shape you need.

Yeah removing gar is best but the place from where i bought it is too small for him to stay the tank in which they were being kept is their size i bought them when they were 8-9in and now they're 13-14 inch and he the fish shop owner feeds them dead fishes i dont know maybe he is illiterate

What should i do with the gar? Any ideas

Actually i just tried to use that idea and tried to fill water in that old small pond but it looks like theres a hole somewhere any ideas through which i can determine where that hole is and seal it with new cement
