Gators and longnosed really kind of suck as far as hobby Aquarium fish go..They are touchy ,temperamental and just plain bad aquarium fish. It really is better to just avoid them unless you really want to dedicate yourself to a specific fish and that fish only.
Tropicals are damn easy to work with, they will do great in a 210 and you will have few issues with them. They carry none of the bad habits and problems that come with any of the other Atractosteus or Lepisosteus gar species.. (Minus Florida /spotted).
