I had a hand me down 120g that my fish were in. It cracked. So now they are temporarily in my 60 until I purchase and set up a new tank. So my question is more towards ideal tank size, do I get another 120 or aim for something bigger: I have 2 sevs, 1 blue acara, 1 jack Dempsey, 1 firemouth, 1 ghost knife. Also questioning whether I should even keep the jd. (These are all still relatively young right now). Also never been on forums so any and all advice welcome.

Firstly, welcome to the forum.
I started off with a 180g, I thought it was huge and that it would easily cater for the fish I was planning to keep for years to come. Then a year later I got another 180g. Then two years later I got rid of one of my 180's and got a 360g. I would go even bigger but space is limited now and my partner isn't too chuffed with the direction my hobby has taken.
I suppose what i'm saying is, go with the biggest tank your wallet and available space will allow, and partner of course. Because one thing I will guarantee you as you get to grips with the forum, is that some of the set ups will blow your mind and you'll look at your little 120g and wish you'd have gone wayyyy bigger.
As far as those fish are concerned, ican't really offer any worthwhile advice, not really a cichlid guy though there are many many knowledgeable cichlid members on here.

Thank you for the welcome! Currently eyeing a 150g long that's within my budget but if I can find bigger i will. I'm hoping that's a good size for the fish I have. And I have no doubts I'll end up with multiple tanks and my home will be overrun lol
