hey mfk members i have a few questions

i am going to be setting up a 55 or 75 gallon tank i want a sting ray that doesnt get really big one i can keep in there. and that can live with my 3 bichir fish and my 4 blue gill sunfish.

also with sand on the bottom wut is a good sand and what is a good filter i found some canister filter here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/175Gal-BIO-CANI...9|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50

would it be good and wut kind of media should i fill it with like in each tray

thanks

First off, welcome to MFK.

Second, you'll have to skip the ray until you get a big enough tank. A 75 is far too small for an adult ray.

As far as the sand though, pool filter sand works great and is cheap.

I agree, definitely going to need bigger than a 75G for a ray. I would look at getting at least a 100G tank.

so there are no rays that stay smaller in size

and is that a good filter or juss a waste of money and wut should i fill it with as far as a good media and something to keep my water clear

read a lot about rays, rays are expensive from where i am at,ray keeping is for an advanced aquarist with time dedication

Welcome to MFK! You are going to need a larger tank than 75. It would be good to get a tank 6' x 2' imo. I am not familiar with the cansiter filter you linked but provided it circulates water I think you'd be ok with it. Media is personal preference. A few to consider would be ceramic rings, activated charcoal, and floss.
