Hi guy's and gal's im new to this forum and new to peacock bass. I live in Australia and i have just decided to get a peacock bass. I've seen some of diesel mack's video's and was inspired to get these predatory fish. I have had oscar's previously and had very good sucsess with a breeding program with a mate of mine. I'm currently trying to locate a peacock bass as im good mates with the owner of the local aquarium he's ringing around to find me one. Hopefully he can. i own some african cichlid,s and im tired of them just a bit to boring for me. So thats for reeding.

Cheers,

Drew

Welcome!! CICHLA Love is all here :D

What kind of Africans are you keeping?? Are any of them breeding?? And how fast do they grow??

I ask as It is an excellent live source for Cichla ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Im currently keeping Malawi's such as maleri gold peacock's, Blue colbalts,
Electric yellow's, labidotropheus fuelleborni, and a couple other species but they are the main one's and yes i am a breeder the one's breeding are the maleri gold peacock's, electric yellow's, rusty cichlid's.

They take a couple of months to grow to about 5 cm but if you were using Malawi's to use as feeder's id personally get chipokae as they breed and grow fast and have well over 25 fry a batch with is alot for rather medium Malawi's.
