put your datnoid in a bright environment such as bright substrate, background, etc.

Good, clean water and a comfortable environment will make a dat more "stable." I've found competition for food and dithers are good for bringing out a dats colors once the water quality has been established.

That said, I've seen Indos that are just never stable.
