hello everybody!! im new in this forum, i already have a tank with 2 pygocentrus nattereri.. i bought 2 scomberoides and are arriving from south america.. i would like to know how i have to fed up them.. water temperature.. food.. kind of light.. and all what u know about them.. thnx
are you planning on keeping the scombs with the redbellies?, if so get a divider because scombs are no where near as mean as they look, the pirahnas will kill them
At the top of the page is a care guide. But you will need a live feeder fish for food. A fully cycled tank. Heat around 80 degree's. The fish are very fragile and will not tolerate ammonia from a cycling tank. And the barracuda will most likely need some antibiotics for tail rot in the first few days. And that operation will need a hospital tank. And higher heat around 85 degree's. At the first sight of the cuda's tail turning white immediatly acclimate it to the hospital tank and start the antibiotics. From turning white to death is usually less than a day. And it is very very common. ---------------Good luck these fish are rare for a reason. And a test to a fish keepers ability.
i hope i'll be lucky.. i think i maturate my ability in this years.. the cuda is bigger then the other 2 hydrolycus.. wich is the most aggressive? cuda or hydrolycus??
In my experience the scombs are not aggressive at all, they ignore what they cant eat.The ace may or may not cause problems with them but if the tank is big enough, you should be okay.
