Not my fish. I'm happy with my fish but I'm not happy with my tanks. More particularly, the sizes of my tanks.
When I set up the 75 for my midevil I thought it would be a suitable long term home. That's not at all how I feel now. The tank so damn small.
My 48x18 45gallon.... I have a big school of barbs and a convict in. That tank has become really small too. Those barbs are so active. I can't imagine keeping them in something like a 10 gallon.
Initially my plan was to buy a 125 for the midevil and move the barbs and convict into the 75. But now I feel like I'm going to have to get a 6' tank for the barbs.
I'm afraid that eventually I feel like the 125 isn't enough.

Anyone else have this problem? Feeling like your tanks are never big enough. Not because you want more fish but because you feel your current tanks aren't adequate for what you have.

We all have this problem, when I planned and got my 500g I thought that would be sufficient, Now I want to build a 8000g tank, and I know I'll want something bigger soon thereafter....

On water change day, I'm real happy my tanks are the sizes they are. I hear you though, it would be nice to have a 6 footer or two, but more smaller tanks is fun too.

What I have been doing since re-entering the hobby recently is to really take my time, be patient with all my purchases and to try and avoid situations like your in. Strickly following the tank before fish rule and ensuring the stock I do pick up will work in my current plans for life.

Not saying you arent doing that, just something that is easy to forget that I think everyone in the hobby should put more of an effort into.

Ive had my midevil for 3 years now and i really thought the 75 would suffice. I wish I had gone with the 125 when I had the chance.
I thought my custom 45 would be a good fit for the barbs but now I wish I had a much bigger tank for them too lol.

I'm worried I'm gonna put the midevil in a 125 and not be happy with it in time.

go with the 180 then. We all have this problem trust me. A 20 gallon becomes a 55 gallon, 55 becomes a 75, 75 becomes a 125, 125 becomes a 220. Next thing you know you are looking into pentair 720 gallon fiberglass tanks

My Midas got to 15.5" in my 200 gallon tank before I sold him. He was 12" when I got him and in 6-7 years got to 15.5".

Honestly the bigger the better always. I downsized my fish collection for this reason lol I sold tons of my precious fish so I can keep the ones I liked more in a suitable environment.

I downgraded my fish and upgraded my tanks to happily suit their needs to there max size

75 gallon
270 gallon
600 gallon

Are more then good for me lol

Maybe a 125 too :p
