Hello Monsters! I'm new here but I signed up over a year ago and I just couldn't find where to introduce myself so I would like try a second time, today. I'm 64 years old this Summer, AKA My sophomore year of Senior Citizenry! I might be a clumsy bad A because I am in a wheelchair from an accident 20 years ago and I can still build plywood MONSTER AQUARIUMS.

When I signed up last year I wanted to document the build of my 285 gallon 'Akron', my first attempt at building a tank. I nailed it too.

And now I am close to getting ready to get started on the 800+ gallon Chicago. I already have the rough stand built and the tank will be assembled right on the stand. At the same time I cut the plywood for Chicago, I will also cut the pieces for Cleveland too. Cleve will be in the 500 gallon range, giver or take...

If this is the wrong forum for this message, would an Admin please move it where it belongs? Thank you and I hope I make some new friends!!!

I'm also no too savvy with computer, I just got 'Thanked' for allowing "push notifications". I have NO idea what that effin crap is. All's I know is someone thanked me. And they are welcome!

I wanna use this pic for my Avy! But I don't want to get reprimanded, I read that intro!!! So I can use something else if this one is inappropriate.

So are the forum members called Monsters? I like it. I'm a monster! Anyway, since I'm the newbie I'd like to post at least once every day and get some advice maybe, and meet some like minded new friends! And I like to post pictures. And my plan is to use this thread to sorta document my next two tank & base builds.
it should be fun, I sure hope so! I know the build will be fun, I hope it's fun here, too.

Here is a picture of the rough cabinet base for the first tank, the 800+ gallon 'Chicago'. Right now it is 12' 6" long but the final outside length will be 3 inches longer at 12' 9". I am not a craftsman and I am not a professional builder. What I am is a capable builder with a ton of determination, a dash of skill and a pinch of talent!

I'm more of a temperamental artist than a methodical builder in an odd sense but I can get some serious work done by myself.
