Pike's are awesome. Here's a new one I just picked up from Infinite Aquatics. I'm a Pike newbie though so tell me what it is so I can make sure I got what I bought. Thanks.

Sorry for the poor pic quality.

Definitely a Lent and a nice male it would appear. How large is it. Did you purchase it locally or through an online vendor. Since you are from Texas have you ever ordered anything from AquaTek, and if so how was there product and service.

I ordered from him from Infinite Aquatics. He's out of California but I'm quite happy with the delivery. It went out yesterday at about 6:45 pm and landed on my doorstep this morning at 9:00 am. The Lent is about 7" or so. I also got a B. Tigrinus catfish and a long finned Senagalus all in great shape and looking good.

Never heard of AquaTek. Are they one of our MFK vendors?

No AquaTek is an online vendor that I came across awhile back out of Texas.

I figured you got it from Infinite, I have never ordered from them but have heard nothing but good about them. I love to order fish, it is such an adrenaline knowing they are on there way. Just like a kid at Christmas.:)

I have kept my pikes with larger synodontis without any issues. How large is the shovelnose now and does it get. As long as they are comparable size I don't see an issue.

Once the tigrinus reaches comparable size, it could work. Eventually, the tigrinus could eat the pike though. Also, tigrinus have such beautiful fin extensions that most cichlids can't say no to. Personally, I wouldn't mix the two.
