ok so last sun.there was an add on craigs list for 5 pirahnas and 14 red zebras.long story short 2 pirahnas were dead.so i got 3 huge rbp and 14 zebras.for free.then mon there was an add for 42 africans i picked up for 50 bucks.now tomorrow im picking up 25 more yellow labs for nothing.i now have 9 rbp in a 300 gallon.and 56 africans in a 70 gallon.soon to be 80 africans.im thinking i need to make a trip to the petstore to trade in some more fish.

I wouldn't add outside fish right into your tanks, especially from unknown sources. I put all new fish in a quarantine tank for at least 1 week before adding them to my established tanks. I do this even if it is from trusted sources.

I do not keep RBP so I cannot comment on them, but what what African species are the 42? What sizes are all of them? With mbunas overstocking can help control aggression, so it but sounds like you are going overboard for a relatively smaller sized tank. Do you have filtration to handle that bio load? I assume you have male and females. Mbunas will breed regardless of species. Expect to have a bunch of mutt fry in there.

I do definitely consider thinning out your live stock.

the cichlids i got today didnt make it to the 70.they all went into the 300 with the rbp.there all a cross of blue acci and yellow labs.hers pics of both tanks
