The dimensions to the tank I am planning on building is 4ft wide x 4ft deep x 2ft tall.. it is approximately 230 to 239 gallons. HOW THICK OF "ACRYLIC" DO I NEED IN ORDER TO BUILD THIS TANK? Or is this not a smart build. I would have to be able to transport and move it through door ways; should i change the build? Also looking at a build of 5ft wide x 3ft deep x 2ft tall.. Which is aprox 220 gallons, Back to How thick of Acrylic do i need? Please help.

It doesn't matter how wide or long your tank is. Rule of thumb is 1/4 thickness per 1' of height. So a 2' tall tank use half inch.

Cant help with the thickness. A friend has a 4x4x2 but glass and its 15mm glass with some crazy bracing but this could be over kill - acrylic may work different.

As for moving such a tank, what we normally do is flip them on the side going right up. Its very strange to carry a tank like this the first time as you only have the base and one side to hold + the tank right in your face so be careful. You can use a trolley and sit the tank like this for transport also which will be much safer then lifting.
