are peacock eels predatory if they get the chance?

i really really want one but i have a school of zebra danios that i'd really like to keep. there's also some golden barbs in the tank (50g)

also, would one have conflicts with a couple of dojo loaches? i have a feeling that's pushing the os limit in the 50g, but what if i moved them all into a 75g?

dosent sound over stocked the loaches should be fine with the eel im told that peacocks will eat other fish but iv never seen this but the barbs should be to big to get eatin the danios might go missing but if you put the eel in after the other fish iv heard that this helps also if you keep the eel fat it wont need to chase down your other fish

i dont know how big p eels get but the barbs get around 3-3.5 inches.
the danios should be relatively safe. they stay at the upper surface of the tank right? mine do.
unless the eel isn't surface shy they should be ok

At a max. size of about 15" I would worry about the peacock eel (Macrognathus aculeatus) eventually eating your danios and possably your barbs as well. I suggest the spiny eel (Macrognathus circumcinctus) as an alternative, they reach about 6".
