Ny to Fl and Back Again
Last January I purchased my 270 gal acrylic from Mike at Precision Clarity in Georgia. Aside from being the worst expeience ever, my tank cracked. I tried to call him because i have a "Lifetime Warranty". Needless to say I am still awaiting a return call from March 2006. Luckily for me the aquatic community is very willing to help a fellow hobbyist. Anyway Saturday I discovered that my overflow box is no longer attached to the tank. I was doing a water change and when the water was on the floor i realized something wasant right. Now I am terrified. I am not sure if the seams on the tank are going to come apart like the ones on the overflow did. Is there any way to check the strength or do I have to wait till the water starts flowing?? I wanted to move up to a 480 and sell this one but I wouldnt be able to sleep at night knowing that the tank could leak if I sold it. Any thoughts?

Oh yea if you are in the market for a tank PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay clear of Precision Clarity or any current name they are using located in Georgia.

If your in the market for a tank buy glass none of this fake stuff

Do the seams have any bubbles in them?

Looking from glass to glass there are a very few here and there. Very small ones. On the sides though there are quite a few. I've always heard to look for the bubbles but I'm not sure where exactly.

bubbles in the GLASS?!?!?!?! that's really bad.

as a rule if acrylic does go it will go all at oncein the end look for them bubbles in the seams go Glass and lfs can get any size thank you want

So are those micro bubbles in the acyrlic seams really bad? Hmmm.. i heard they develop overtime, but does it mean the tank is gonna fail? I thought acrylic seams were bonded chemically, so it is suppose to be super strong?

I've heard of far more instances of glass tanks failing than of acrylic tanks.

There are alot of things that I'm willing to kill for; jewels, deposit boxs, giant fish tanks.
But I've finally found something I'm willing to DIE for.......

this mindless turtle...at this point you became that turtle you did not read well
.

huh?
im sorry, my mindlessness can't quite understand the irony.
