My 4 1/2" silver arowana disappointed me, I gut loaded some small crickets for a couple days. I finally get to feed them for the first time ever and, my arowana freaked an booked it far away. Anyone else ever had this happen, cause I was expecting some air jaws live. Also my 1" JD ate the crickets, but that was funny.

4.5'' is very small, they can get freakout easy! in the wild, young arowana feed on small fish and shrimps!

small crix should be fine and easily accepted by 4 inch aro, otherwise small fish or meal worms (smaller version of the superworms) or earthworms or chopped market shrimp will do

dont get discouraged man, keep trying the crickets. he'd probably also accept frozen or dried bloodworms.

+1

You may want to watch him with that JD, even at 1'' it can bully and stress your aro. I have seen them get stressed over a small goldfish before.

How long have you had the aro? What is the aro currently eating?

give aro sometime to adjust the environment ... particularly if house it in big tank
if you give cricket, try to cut the head part :)

4inch aro is very fragile... its better to get a 8inch aro or bigger than 4inch.. feed some worms or small feeders...

The arowana is in a tank by it's self, I got him a separate tank on clist, An I feed it hikari food sticks, cichlid gold every once in a while, an frozen food when he takes it, but he loves the food sticks. An I've had him for about 1 month, I got him when he still had a little bit of the egg sack. I love the little guy, he's awesome, o an there are 2 small firemouth cichlids with him about an inch.
