Ok, so last night I buy a 4" Clown Loach from a guy on cl looking to adopt his fish. I pick it up a 11 PM and it's gorgeous. I get home and acclimate it for an hour, then throw it in with my two other loaches. I go to sleep, so exited to have gotten such a nice fish for $5. When I woke this morning I found it on the floor about 2 feet from the tank all dried up . What really surprised me was that it jumped through a gap less than an inch wide, and almost the same width as the loach itself. It had to make a perfect jump to get out :irked:. Man I'm so pissed. It never crossed my mind that it would jump, as I never had any loaches jump before.

I took a few pics of him before I went to sleep. RIP John "Clown Loach" Doe.

It's tough to lose any fish but to a Loach hits hard, doesn't it? I feel your pain. I lost my 7" Green Terror the same way, I still don't know how he got out, there was no holes anywhere near big enough.
I'm sorry you lost him.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I've never had them jump either, and never would have thought they would be the type. Sorry for your loss.

Thanks all. On a positive note though, my 2 GT's that haven't been eating for close to a month due to the "mysterious gt disease" finally came out to eat yesterday, and no more white poop :headbang2.

Sorry for your loss. I had a small pack of clown loaches and one dissapeared. It was missing for days, and I finally found it inside the tank stand.

Sorry about your loach

sorry to hear that, the same happened to me with my albino red-tail, so i moved onto salt water and only buy big-ones now so they cant fit through any gaps
