ok so i was shopping around aquabid.com and well this is just stupid, guys selling 40 L46's breeding pairs apparently, but really look at the price! come on! i dunno personally with them being able to be tank bred, i realize they dont lay as many eggs but you cant tell me that if people can do it in home tanks that large companies arnt breeding them in massive numbers. The markets going to get flooded if not already and the price will have to come down or they just wont sell, i like them so ive bin watching and there all over, but there being stubborn in not lowering the price, but just be patient itll come down.

ya.. it happens.. theres always those expensive fish for crazy prices... i understand how u feel.. is like the price of asian arowana or a blue eye pleco...

I used to think the price on zebras would drop. The market is flooded with them. Most people breeding them have multiples on their hands with difficulty moving them quickly or in large amounts due to people like you and I who assume that the price will drop. However, since the zebras stay small and are easy to care for, it is no extra work/effort for the breeder to hold on to them for as long as necessary and the inflated price adds to the incentive.

Holy mole that is $600 per fish! Way over priced! I remember one of the vendors is selling them for 200 a pop, they werent breeders but still!

Very pretty fish, but yea at 600 each he can keep them.I wouldnt mind doing a sa biotope river tank for them but Im not interested till the price is more reasonable.

I agree with you 100%, that's why I don't have any yet. Once the price comes down by more, I will get some.

from what I understand of the L46's is they breed in groups of 1m per 2-3 f .. one of the first fish i was interested in when i rejoined the hobby.. they where expensive 8 -10 some odd years ago when i had my first one and that one cost me over 100$. And those where wild caught specimens. They only live 3-5 some odd years iir. sounds like someones trying to unload some older breeders and to the unwise.. yeah.. :swear: would result in a matter of months if that. I call dirty pool... dirty pool...

I would be soo pissed! haha buy 24000$ of fish and they start dropping like flies! Give me a break, guy would prob blame it on your fishkeeping practices to avoid it. The guy has like 10 posts on aqua bid and there all the same price, either hes got a warehouse of these things or im sniffin a scam.
