Yes but for other small rays the ray im looking into getting is a motoro if 12" is the highest you can go with out braces then im just staying with the rubbermaid if there are any other clarifications needed just let me no. Plese dont get mad at me i just dont want to wast my money one somthing to sall or make somthing that burst one day.

you can fill a rubbermaid more than 12inch.... its designed too not need braces...you can keep a motoro for a few years you just need to be carefull it doesn't stress the retic.. are you thinking of building a pond now??? I don't understand the bracing question...

Yes im looking into building a pond cause the nearest place to get a rubbermaid is 45min away. the bracing ? deals with miles pond idea(http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23499) he has his built 12in i was wondering if i can do 18" with out using a center brace.

hey. if you have the space i have an extra 600gallon i could sell. its 8 feet round

2x4 framework spaced 16" or closer and you can go 2'+ build a ladder frame wrap it in heavy plywood and no top bracing is needed.. my buddy just built 4x8x2 this way and I have 6x3x2.5'

I built a 8'x4'3' pond exactly as described above for approximately $400. I did not need any bracing but I did use a sheet of 3/4" marine grade plywood for the floor and used heavy duty screws to attache the framing to the floor and it worked fine.

However, I did experience two leaky liners over a four year period. I don't know how it happened for sure. I assume that they pierced the side during some "rough" play.

I would go with a plastic poly pond. Much easier, cheaper and no worries about leaks.
