i have a 3 foot nurse shark that literally broke his 1000 gallon tank i didnt know what else to do aside form putting him in a 180 gallon just wanted to see if its normal reef setup would be ok for a few weeks? runs roughly 3000 gph (custom piping ot run so much) through wet/dry sump n refugium 2 large powerheads combined run another 2000 gph or so, 2 small pieces of live rick taken frmo my 55 gallon reef and around 160lbs live sand heres a pic u can see the extra piping to flow so much water (the tank is also drilled) 14k halides and acetic (i cant spell it)

:FIREdevilflame away:( :FIREdevil or gimme some ideas to keep him happy for about 3 weeks till his other tank is fixed

well first off, i dont see how anyone can flame you if his tank is broke, i mean what are you supposed to do?

outta interest how he break it?
also can it turn in that tank?

Ohhhhhh boy do I want to flame you.:swear:

Kidding, your tank broke and you're doing the only thing you can. Though nurse sharks are a large species to keep (I would choose something smaller). Sadly I know nothing about saltwater so I cannot really help, I just like sharks so wanted to check it out. Nice looking fish BTW, is that other big guy a sheepshead?

I won't flame you, sounds like you are doing the best you can at the moment. I don't see any reason why you should get flamed. Your getting his tank fixed and it is only for 3 weeks. Besides he has plenty of room for 3 weeks and it sounds like plenty of filtration aswell. If he was in a 55 yeah then I would flame you, but you are doing the best you can.

He/she looks nice by the way, also what is the big striped fish in the tank with it.

thanks guys i didnt expect that, out of all honesty he cant turn to well he almost has to swim to the top to do so, yes its a sheepshead want any? lol they arnt to hard to catch here he was caught on a small fiddler crab

almost forgot he was trying to eat a small catchfish i threw in there after a days fishing he came at it from the side and slammed into the tank so hard and cracked it somehow and now has a small leak were debating on patching it or just just buying a new tank not decided yet cause of money and were moving so we have to wait until we get moved to even think about it im just hoping hell be ok for a max of 3-4 weeks

He should be fine for a month, besides like we all said it is the best you can do at the moment.

and i dont think they are a constant swimming type shark?

No there not, wish I could remember the name of what you call sharks that are, it is really bugging me now.

anyone want me to keep updates with pics of his tank over the coming weeks?

Yes! I wanna know how this guy does. Whether or not he will be fine in that tank there really is no other option, just gotta hope for the best. As long as you keep it clean he should be alright.
