The Ozarks, US
Just thought I'd say hello. I just joined. I'm looking forward to learning a lot here. Seeing some of the photos here is really humbling.

I live in the Midwest, US. I have always been interested in animals, including aquaria, and in photography. I finally acquired my first DSLR a little over a year ago and have really enjoyed it. I especially like macro shots, though I am still definitely a novice.

I've had one Oscar fish at a time in years past. My 55 gallon has sat around gathering dust for 6 years and I just decided I wanted to change that. I had my mind made up to get another single Oscar and raise it to adulthood, but after research, I decided to try something new. I'm going to stock my 55 gallon with African Cichlids--Mbunas originating from Lake Malawi to be specific. I plan on getting 4 Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos, 4 Labidochromis caeruleus, 4 Pseudotropheus sp. "Acei", and 1 Ancistrus sp. "Bristlenose Catfish".

Tank info:
* 48" 55 US gallons
* OLD hood with OLD T12 tubes that I plan on replacing with new daylight tubes from hardware store
* Play Sand substrate
* Locally found driftwood and rocks
* Fluval 403 canister with two BIO-Wheel 30s

Camera equip:
* Nikon D40
* Nikkor 18-200 mm VR II lens
* Nikkor 105 mm Micro (macro) lens
* Manfrotto tripod with ball head

Well, I've already made this longer than I intended, so I'll quit there.
